Seminar Hosting Guidelines
Members of the ISR community frequently host external visitors who offer seminars to our faculty, staff, and students (as well as members of the broader community). This document is intended to provide some overall guidance around the hosting process.
Some seminars are part of series within the department (e.g., the COS Seminar Series), while others are ad hoc seminars developed by host faculty. Charges should be borne by the appropriate cost center (i.e., the program hosting the talk or the discretionary account of the faculty host). When in doubt, please contact the Business Office for clarification.
Traditional room reservation channels should be used to secure space for all seminars.
Travel arrangements for speakers, if necessary, should generally be made by the host’s administrative support staff member. All travel expenses must comply with the university’s Business and Travel Expense Policy.
The provision is refreshments is up to the host. We recommend the use of the campus catering service when light refreshments are required.

. Posters should be placed around the SCS complex at a minimum; work study students in the Business Office may be available to assist – check with Helen Higgins.
Announcements may be sent to email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, or to another mailing list as may be appropriate (e.g., email@example.com).
