Carley Delivers DNA Talks to Top Tier Chinese Research Institutions

Dr. Kathleen Carley, Director of the Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems (CASOS) and Professor of Computer Science, recently returned from China where she delivered two well-received talks on dynamic network analysis (DNA); the first at the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing, China and the second at the Shunde International Joint Research Institute in Shunde China.

The Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) is one of China most respected institutions of higher technical and scientific learning. Established in 1949, CAS is serves as a crucial research institution, housing more than 80 percent of China’s large-scale science facilities.

The Shunde International Joint Research Institute (JRI) is an exciting new joint venture between Sun Yat-Sen University and Carnegie Mellon University. Situated in Guangdong Province, JRI is positioned to support a wide range of emergent technological research and commercialization projects in China’s booming “Wisdom Valley”.
